We ( the salt water guy's ) call any fish that is to large to land with a landing net a gaffer,ie the fish has to be gaffed to get it into the boat.A fish that is small enough to be landed by netting or pulling it over the rail by the line it self or by hand is referred to as a slinger.

And "peanuts" are fish in the just leagal range. (All of these terms are mostly wused when talking Dolphin, aka "Mahi Mahi".) "Slammer" is a big gaffer, a fish you have to slam the box lid sown on because it doesn't fit in it, and might flop out.

And, lets not forget those SMOKERS ,those are the ones that take line so fast that you have to pore water on the reel to keep it cool .I only had one of those on the last trip but they make my shoulder hurt LOL

OHH ,I think I no a way to help with that to!If we can do it when the shrimp season is going on you can bring her 40 or 50 lbs of fresh SC shrimp.
