Yeah the sound of boats banging into each other, cussing, screaming, and that's just the parking lot... It gets worse when they actuall get them in the water.

Seems like you and I have this conversation every year when the summer holidays roll around. Always a show to be had there at the ramp. People go on vacation and either leave their brain at home, or send it on a seperate vacation. One of the best attempts at a solution for this madness was one that a private marina did years ago in NJ. The owner charged a very small fee to launch. It was an honor system during the slower times, but on hoidays and weekends his teenage daughter collected the fee and handed out a flyer that said "Marina is not responsible for your stupidity.",then "Hall of Shame", followed by pictures of the results of some of the past idiotic actions with captions like "Forgot to put the drain plug in before putting the boat in.", "Shoul have learned to back a trailer.", "Parking brakes are put in vehicles for a reason.", "Vehicles should have enough power to pull the boat and trailer back up the ramp.", and (my personal favorite) "Boat should be secured to the trailer when pulling out." (It doesn't take a litof imagination to visualize the photos.). At the bottom of the flyer, in large bold print: "Don't be the next to have their picture in the Hall of Shame. Ramp use is at your own risk."
The idea put some summer spending money in the kid's pocket, and lowered the number of "accidents" at the ramp.

I have often thought that some one could open up a shop at the public boat landing that has a trailer repair, prop repair and, fiberglass repair service OH and, a god tow truck LOL It's a sad sight when you look out there and, see a pick up truck slowly sinking a few yards from the end of the ramp.

Well it looks like my plans for this weekend have been washed out ! The big bruiser reds are starting to show in the surf and, the cobia are showing on the near shore reefs and, the tropical weather is going to close the book on this weekend and, the first part of next week.

I didn't do the dance this time so, you can't blame it on me!!!!!!!!! It must have been the folks on north Fla. that did all the yard stomping this time.
