Stocking the yak tackle box. Have to keep it to a small amount because of storage space. Stripers, Trout (Speck and Gray), Drum (Red ad Black), Bluefish, Croaker and Flounder are the most popular species in the waters I'll be fishing.
My short list for conventional tackle artificials is Buck Tail jigs, some plastics to tip them with, a few spoons I've had banging around that worked on occaision. I've conventrated my takle buying so much on stuff for my Keys my Keys trip that I am out of touch with what I should be doing for these species.
Pst up suggestions! (Plan to put some in the box that locals recommend, and some form others, rotating to find what works.) Corlor suggestions would be welcome, since I sometimes have to send the wife out to do the shopping, and she brings home "the pretty ones" if I'm not specific enough! LOL

I keep the church key with me at ALL times!!! You just never know when or where an impromtu church social might be held.
Wire cutters are one of the few things I have neglected to put in the emergency kit. I always carry a Leatherman tool on the water, but those things would be of no use to cut a saltwater hook should the need arise. Putting that on the "To Get" list. Thanks for the reminder.

That reminds me of a story... I'll have to post it when the muse hits me... Amusing tale, but there's a moral to it... Strong, sharp wire cutters should be on every boat that fishes saltwer....

No, it's a day for getting ugly ties, pretending you like them. Then man the grill while sweating off those body parts that made you a father in the first place. I have no kids, and somehow I still go through this routine. (except for the ties. I get lures that catch fishmen's wives and not fish.) It's one of those unaswered questions in life.
