Sorry to hear that you didn't catch anything, I hope you enjoyed the trip though. (I guess that you left the dynamite at home with the emergers... LOL)

Copperhead???!!! I don't think I would have held still long enough to take a picture of it either!!!! Bambi and mommy OK, but snakes are WAY off my list of things to be around. Heck, I jump if my wife moves the garden hose to close to me while I'm having an icy cold drink and she's watering the garden. . . Glad to hear you had a good trip, hope the wife enjoyed it too.

That's the definition of "fresh fish"! LOL When are you hitting the salt again? Flounder should be moving your way right now. (The shorts are starting to move off here and the bigger ones are starting to come shallow.) Going to have to use big baits this year, our min. size is 18.5". Might have to lay off minnos and goe with Croaker and Spot.

flounder have been here, had a report from a friend that works at a tackle shop, 1 guy reports 130 in 2 days, w/ 2 keepers, keepers are 15.5 in maryland.
wont get out this weekend, its still the fourth week, so too many idiots out there for me

I hear you on the idiots! LOL My buddy and I have been keeping the exact location of our new honey hole off the local boards because there was only a couple other boats around, and the boat traffic was mostly a few hundred yards away and they were all going full throttle for the bay, so they didn't notice us. I never would have thought it was a day during the holiday week! But, we're thinking we might want to stay off the spot until things clear out a bit...
That's a lot of flounder! Only 2 keepers? That's a lot of shorts to get only 2.
I wish 15.5 was our limit, Monday's yak trip might have put SOME on the table at that size. LOL We weren't measuring anything because an 18.5 incher looks HUGE and ours weren't that big. But, my buddy was cussing that a couple were over the commercial size limit of 14 easily. The one other boat in the area picked up a couple around 25". I'm not sure if they got them on the fly or bait. They had both types of gear going.

it amazes me the lack of courtesy by boaters. its so nice when a 40 footer comes 20' from your stern at full throttle. no one pays attention to the 100 foot rule. i have actually thought about taking a paintball gun out there for those that dont obey

Yet we find another use for long neck beer bottles LOL.The local law enforcement folks around here love to enforce the boating laws and, will drop a ticket on you in a heart beat for throwing a wake causing any damage with your boat.

I wish we had Sandy's enforcers up here!! The ones here will do a safety inspection, cite you for a flare gun being a monthout of date while the boat is being rocked by wakes and being sprayed from Jetsis. They'll go after you if you are just barely leaving a wake throgh a no wake zone when they want, but they will ignore the ones that are realliy hauling ass through the same stretch of water and really causing a hazard. There have been days when boats over loaded with people whooping it up, throwning booze bottles around, and they ignore them. Yet, a fisherman pulls a beer and sandwich out while at anchor, and they're all over him. Almost makes you feel like they want the vacationers to go free to spend their money around town, yet over regulate the regular Joes.

That seems to be the rule people follow these days!!!! I'm really amazed that there isn't more EATHS than there are during the holiday weekends on the water, not that I wish there to be, I just can't believe how lucky they are. I'm all about having a good time, but I draw the line at stupidity!!!
