I have been lucky so far this year with the skeets because of the lack of rain but, we are getting the wet stuff now and, they wont be far behind .

So, I guess a trip to do some steelhead fishing would be out of the question. Either Lake Erie or Lake Ontario tribs. LOL Rich

Maybe in early spring or late fall... but once the temps get to the 30's, I am locked in the basement tying flies next to the furnace!!!!!!

That sounds like a plan to me !!!!! I tend to stay as close to a nice dry warm fly bench myself when the temps start to drop.

Fishing wise. It it hard to find someone who fishes and not dabble with it up here. They think a fishing trip should be about an hour or two long. I'm just warming up by then. I fish way into dark. I could be on the water 12-14 hrs.

Sometimes I just head out after work for prime time, usually a couple hours before sunset. Most of the time a love to make a day of it which is the most fun and relaxing. Especially now since I bought a new boat and have more room for the wife, kid and dog.

I have to fish the tides here and, as a general rule I only have a 3 or 4 hours that the bite is on every 12 hours

That is one advantage that freshwater has over salt. We don't have to deal with tides. There are times when the fish turn off but not for long. Thats when you replenish you energy for the next round.
