Mother nature was not to kind this year. I fished the fly fishing only section of the Lackawana River in Northeast Pa.. The water was clear, running a little high and fast. There was only one other person there. It was a bait fisherman and his two young sons. I didn't bother telling them they were in the wrong section of the river. I could'nt do that to the kids. I fished nymphs for about 4 hrs. It was impossible to get a good drift for more than a foot and a half before the current wisked the nymph down stream. The fact that it was a fishless day, I still enjoyed the hunt and a chance to wet a line. All in all it was a great day. Rich

I hoping that the weather didn't hit the Lake Ontario area. I have a day trip on the Salmon River this Saturday. It may be the last time the steelhead will still be in the river. Rich

Well I stayed dry and I only saw one steelhead from the bridge at Altmar. I heard that one was caught in the upper fly fishing section. It was a beautiful day to wet a line. The only bad part was a couple of drifboats started fishing the same section of the pool I was fishing. They are suppose to give wading fisherman the right of way. I threw rocks in the water to disperse the fish before I left so I'm sure they didn't get anything in that area either. I was there first. Rich
