We don't get the big blue fish or the striper's in the surf down here but, the big reds and, trout make up for it.This time of the year we have to deal with big sharks in the surf that will take hooked fish and, wading with fish on a stringer is a big NO NO!!!!!!

md. My money is on big Blues. They're popping up in the surf under the smaller ones. Really odd. Not big schools of big ones, but a few folling the big schools of little fish.
Good luck on the wife and her gear.. Two places I hate walking into with my wife, jewlery stores, and tackle shops.... She's no gemologist, and a novice at fishing, but the cheap stuff never catches her eys....
