well, my first day fishing in a long while brought 1 10inch bass on a #12 black gnat fly, one 8 inch redear on live red worm, several nibbles on dry flies and a handfull of itsy bitsy sunnies with live bait. today was listed as a poor day to fish by good ole garmin (usually nails the bite) with a cold front pushing thru last nite and this morn with pretty solid cloud cover most of the day. clear for about 2 hours around noon. in all honesty tho i had trouble with my own paitents. joy of the new boat and the first fishin this year i had trouble sticking with a bait and a rod and location. lol. kinda became a mad dash to fish as many lures and flies in as many places while running all over the lake to check it out. watching the sky and returning to the ramp "just in case" and then dashing back to far end when the sun broke, then back late afterrnoon as the clouds built. mmmmmmm. i love the thrill of the big game salt water hunt but nothing beats slipping around the local lake with a silent trolling motor on a beautiful day spooking monsters of all sorts. oh yeah, saw several gators and some huge turtles. spooked some things, maybe gators, that were seemingly huge, at least from the perch of a 12 foot jon boat with a top speed of a brisk walk! lol. the birds were close, i got on top of some fish bedding and was able to identify several large tilapia. got home and took a nap, cleaned the fish i kept, put up the boat, now i am drinking a beer, sharing with friends and basking in the slight sting of just a tiny bit too much sun. Hope that helps those that are still waiting for their own fishin fix.

well i took the thurs and friday off before easter to get some fishing in. fished thurs for stocked rainbows. caught too many bluegill to count. bass wouldnt touch my flies, even when i drifted them and hit em in the mouth! managed to find the trout, caught 2 for the table. highlight of the day was the wife hookin into an 8 lb snapping turtle on a 4wt. she didnt know what she had until it decided to come to her.

LOL Thanks md, sounds like the bluegill are on the bite, the bass have lockjaw, and the turtles are snapping in your neck of the woods!
