Well, the blasted temperature dripped again. 40 and windy, so I think I'll just put in a little tiem at the bench getting ready for the upcoming Keys bonanza. I think it's Clousers and those Crystal Shrimp that will be my two primaries down there. I guess I'll need some brighter colors and go real sparse on the Clousers because of the gin clear water. Any body want to throw their two cents in on what they think I should try, I can use all the help I can get.

T minus 10 days and counting... With this bloody weather the 17th can't get here soon enough!! Doing those Clousers in the colors you suggest, and getting some help from the mad scientist on the crystal shrimp... She claims I'm tying "Muppet Shrimp", but thinks they're great. Could be my palmering of the feather. Using those pink ones you sent me. I have to admitt, when I looked at them uner the electronic magnifier, they look like thy are ready for cocktail sauce though!! LOL

I've been tying my little heart out. I just got done with some size 28 midge pupaes. My eyes are strained. The fish must wear binoculators to see any thing that small. Rich

28??? I would be tying materials directly on to the vise jaws with a hook like that loaded in them!! I hope you tie them to leaders BEFORE you hit the water, would make changing flies a lot easier in my mind... Either that or I'd be starting a chum slick of size 28 flies in the water where I was wading! (I'd probably drop 100 flies for every 1 I got on the line!) LOL You must be headed for some HOT fishing to be messin' with them... Think I'll stick to the salt!

Rich This is the kind of weather that inspires me to go to the vise. What was that website you send me (years ago) that had all those patterns?

It was Ovis's site but they do not have the patterns now Try FlyTyingForum.com Google it.
