well it is april. the time for bedding bass in fla. I kinda know the way that all works. they wont eat once they start to bed but will hit lizards and stuff that is a threat. what i don't have as good handle on is when does the bite start to come back. I haven been fishing much lately and am trying to rack my noodle for that info. usually when the pads bloom is when I find the bit really gets hot again but i don't quite understand the things at work. temp and stuff. the pads have leafed out so to speak. they have pads so fish are starting to bed up. I never paid much mind tho to when they start to bloom. Just kinda noticed it and grabbed the rod. I am so itching to get the new boat wet but i want to make my first trip at least a little fishy. no fun if we don't get dirty. lol.

Seems like I read somewhere that the key is temperature rise to start the spawning and then after a few days the fry hatch and the bass protect them for a few more days and then its over. Some bass start earlier than others so the whole process for all the bass to finish could be a month. Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

Sorry Brazin', I have no clue. I have some wise cracks about peeking at a bass in bed, but will keep them to myself... LOL

well the lilly blooms are just showing color. still tight balls of yellow tho. and as i suspescted the fish were all bedded up. this lake seems to be over run with tillapia. have to research how tocatch them. crickets i think. some looked to be over 3 pounds. there is no limit on them. only bass i caught all day was on a #12 black gnat fly. lol. all those honkin plastics and it was the good ole fly that worked. also got few little pan fish. one big enough to keep for dinner. all in all a great day! the boat floats and trolling motor will push it. yippeeeee!
