Hey guys... I'm in the process of building a really nice rod. It is a 1967 Barracuda with a 426 Hemi. I'm also thinking about restoring a 1968 'vette Mako Shark. Is that "heavy action" or what? Is a J.C. Whitney catalog a good place to get parts for my rod? Whew... I need another buzzbait Lunk <"}}}}}><

Lunk I had a 68 Cuda with a 426 Hemi built by Keith Black. It was sweet. Passed everything but gas stations. ROFL Rich

Hey... thanx for the website. I owe you guys an apology. When I saw the forum "Rod Building" I had to get stupid and bring up hot rods. But I thought it would help us relive some good 'ol memories. The days when chicks on roller skates brought us our burgers and shakes. I had a '65 Goat that turned in the 11's (street legal). The only ride I couldn't beat was a 442 Olds. Telephone pole to telephone pole (1/4 mile) for a case of beer. That mother was stock of the shelf and it still got me by half a length! That was when Sunoco 260 was 42 cents a gallon! I could fill my tank for 5 bucks! I liked the Chevy 327, 375 horse! I put one in a Nova. Did'nt have to buy beer for 8 months! That motor only came in the Corvette Mako. That was like putting a rocket on a go-cart, lol! Remember Don Garlits? He was the first to break the 5 second barrier. God, that seems so slow now. They should break 4 seconds next year. Force has a prototype thats putting out 12,000 horses! Believe that poop? I was in one of the biggest hot rod shops in the world in 1970 when I lived in Detroit. Gratiot Auto Supply out on Gratiot Road. Looked like Wal-mart!

I got me a Mopar , I got me a 1995 Dodge ram 1500 for a shop truck. It had engin problems and, I got a good deal on it.I snatched the old engin and, dropped in a long block 360 and, put a possy rear end in it.The thing will get down and pull like no truck I ever had but, it's hard to keep the gas tank full LOL.Im glad I don't have to depend on it for every day use.
