Dan, I always wanted to try building my own rods, just not brave enough. Eid you like doing it? Can't wait to hear how it fishes!!!

Cnot, I enjoyed it very much. I think the nice thing about building you own rod is you can do what ever you like to it. My original design didn't have the sparkly raps on it. I cut the thread off of a couple of the eyes several times until I was happy with them. I think the hardest part of building the rod was wrapping the small end of the rod and of course that is where most of the eyes are at.
I can't wait to get out and do some testing at the local crappie hole. I'm starting a savings account to save me a few dollars every week until I can afford some more rod building supplies.

Have you looked at St Croix's web site? They have a rod building section that is pretty good.
