Been working the flats of the nearby rivers from the yak, and the Croaker are in THICK. Not many big ones, and they have become tiresome to catch. Last night I think we found a spot that held some other fish because of the strikes we got, but the hard part was keeping the baits out of the Croaker's mouths long enough for anything else to get a hold of it! I caught a 6" Croaker on a 4" bait on a 3/0 hook! We had some drag screaming hits, I'm suspecting Redfish, but just couldn't get around the pests. Oh well, maybe some of the folks that like the little guys will find the spot and clear some of them out for us, LOL!

Try live minnows on the bottom .The croaker may leave them along long enough for the red fish to find them.

I'll give that a try. A fella that we met at the ramp was complaining about the fact that the Croaker were beating up the live mullet he was fishing.

The pests are still at it!!!
Found a flounder hole, but the second your bait was off the bottom by an inch, the little peckerheads were on it! Making cat food out of some of those buggers tonight. I'm putting the 12 inch fish to some use, maybe if I stop releasing all of them they will get the message and leave my bait ALONE!!!

If you chase the croaker away you will have to deal with pin fish and, yellow tails
