Jed thingyerson holds the world-record class bass Dottie after she was found dead on Dixon Lake Friday Dottie, the California bass that was caught in 2006 and was claimed to weigh over 25 pounds was found floating dead. Rangers at Dixon Lake found the big bass and local fisherman Jed thingyerson identified her. thingyerson was one of three friends, including Mac Weakley and Mike Winn, who tried to break the record bass for years. In 2003 thingyerson caught the bass they named Dottie because of a spot on her side and claimed she weighed 23 pounds when first caught. By the time she was officially weighed three hours later the fish weighed 21 pounds, 11 ounces - impressive but not a world record.

Why do we need me around here with this program in place no one can cuss anyway. The hell we can't... dammit anyway All jokes aside, the world record was caught somewhere in Georgia in the 1950's on a live worm. The fisherman took the fish home to eat. The were no pics taken of it, however, the length was measured at 34 inches. It's going to be hard to catch the record because at that size they nearly reach their age of longevity. The bass pictured above probably died of natural causes then floated to the top. Lunk <"}}}}}><
