The Fishsiam team has been fishing on two of Thailand's wildest and remote tidal rivers and has caught fifty Giant Freshwater Stingray to an estimated 220kg's.These fish have been caught from the Ban Pakong and Maeklong Rivers and have all been released after capture. We are currently engaged in a two year research program with the Megafish project concerning Giant Freshwater Stingray.Catch reports and video can be seen at our site. www.fishsiam.com

Nice site and, nice ray. I don't target ray's but, I do hook up on a few every year ,several in the 30lb+ range and, they can be a hand full. Thanks for posting .

Hello Sandy and the Sheriff, These things are a little bit more than a handfull! We have experienced epic six hour battles to tame these prehistoric predators requiring numerous anglers to take turns in winching these creatures from the depths. We use Fluoro leaders of 150lb and Owner SSG Circle hooks to catch these monsters. There is some footage on our site which shows a Penn Tuna stick snapped while I am fighting a big Giant Freshwater Stingray on the Ban Pakong River. www.fishsiam.com
