Zach caught this pretty little bluegill tonight fishing off the row boat. He was actually messing around and had 1/2 his pole under the water and moving it back and forth when he caught this with a worm. I thought the color was brilliant so thought I'd share

Thats a beauty but it looks more like a red breast sun fish.

It is a bluegill but I will have to say I have not seen one with the orange extending that far into the tail. As far as I know we don't have red breast sun fish in Nebraska and are not listed in our fishes of Nebraska list. I know this lake is stocked with only Bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish. It does have bullhead catfish as well but those were not stocked.

The reason I said that was the spot on the gill plate that most sunfish have. I am going panfishing to morrow morning and I'll check our bluegills out.
